right prospects of a new job on the cards here so need some advice.
will be offered a van with the job but here lies the problem all vans are limited to 50mph, how would these be limited and usually how easy are these to be de limited could a mechanic with computers that's crafty enough get rid of it, no trackers so company wont know van speed.
vans are under 3.5 ton so not government regulated limiter.

Would you not be happy to have a new job with a company vehicle?

It will be simple to un-restrict the van but you don't own it. If an accident occurred and engineers were involved etc you would be in serious bother.

At the same time I think 50 mph (80kph) is dangerous in its own right. HGV's can travel quicker thann that. What sort of vehicle could you potentially be driving?
It would be ok but stuck maybe driving 20 to 100 miles to work then going doing on 8 hr shift is not really appling to me if ive to drive to work at 50mph in a company vehicule.
it is dangerous last job we had no limiters but were not allowed to do more than 80mph which was fair just 50mph seems very slow to me.
Renaults or transits is the company line up so far that I seen. generally 5 to 6 yr old

Whoever made decision in that company about limiting those vans to 80km/h must not be in right mind.
Vehicle limited to 80km/h is just dangerous on the road.

Don't be daft. Course they're not. Driven a lorry limited to 83km/h that could barely do 80 on a good day. You won't ever see a Stobart lorry going faster than 80 either. Lorries are limited to 80km/h when not on a motorway anyway. Some ESB vehicles are limited to 80km/h too.

Wouldn't go messing with a vehicle you don't own OP. Grounds for dismissal.

I wouldn't do it, if there were an incident of any sort then having disabled the limiter would look rather bad in court if it were discovered.
Once you get used to it, it shouldn't be too bad.
