Dont no a thing about tax and new job responsibilities! just out of college so was wondering what i need to do? my employer asked for my sort code, acc number, iban and bic numbers so im assuming all will go into my bank account. i dont reckon to earn more than 10,000 a year in this job though. Basically what should i be aware of and must i do anything when i get my first wage, and what about my end of year accounts etc??? thanks im just a new comer to this "real world" :pac:

get the employers registered number and ring Revenue and ask to be registered with this company. This will ensure that your employer has the correct tax information for you. Giving in the P45 should usually be sufficient but I always recommend you ring Revenue yourself too to ensure everything is sorted faster.

If you are working as a PAYE worker you don't have year end accounts. At the end of the tax year (31 Dec) your employer will do a tax return to Revenue along with details of all the employee during that year. You will then get a P60 which will state your gross earnings, tax, etc for the year.
