Just wondering how hard is it to get dcu on campus student accommodation if you don't get over 500 points and if you do get 500 what do you need to do in order to get the on campus student accommodation ? Any help about on campus accommodation would be great thanks

Its all really just a lottery system, really, They just have a certain amount set aside for students with over 500 points, its just really an incentive to get more students to pick DCU over other universities I think.
Its not exactly 'hard' in anyway, depends on the demand, when I was in first year most of the people I knew were applying got it. But its not a definite for anyone. You should always look around at the other student accommodation in the area just in case.

Hi I'm hoping to apply for dcu accomodation aswell :) I'm a first year and not sure where to go larkfield or hampsted ? Any opinions ? Is the craic in larkfield ? I've heard the rooms are bigger in hampsted !

Hi folks, I forgot about the accommodation opening and only applied today, some 5 days after it opened! Do I have f*ck all chance of getting it now? (Honestly!!)

Also I applied to Hampstead as it has more rooms, ie more people and I want to have a bit of craic... am I silly for doing this as I heard Larkfield is more for 1st years?

Aaaand on last thing! What does a ''superior'' room mean? - a double bed?

Most 1st years choose Larkfield as it's easier to meet new people etc. (It's exclusively 1st years).

Would imagine it'd be easier to get as well if there's a large volume of older students applying for Hampstead.

Larkfield is for first years only. and its only two people per apartment. You only have a bedroom, and a tiny kitchen and bathroom you share.

Hampstead is bigger, but can be up to 5 people, and are less likely to be first years. Superior room is indeed a double bed.

Hi is there good space in the Hampstead apartments in DCU? In the double room? Desk? Clothes/wardrobe space etc?

Anyone any idea on the cost of parking for the academic year? How does it work? Fob? Or what, and how can you get one? Thanks

The residence car park is €90 for the year. You use your student card to get into the parking lot. Here is the information on it. They usually specify a day in week 1/2 when the permits go on sale.
