NtBackup restore slow/hang

I browsing a directory tree for a single file to be restored from a bkf file. I have 30 folders each containg approx 25000 subfolders. I've clicked to expand one of the thirty and have had the egg timer now for about 4 to 5 hours. Will it open eventually or do I have a problem?

Ended the task after eight hours. NTBackup must be incapable of listing 25000 entries.

I might be mixing up things but isn't there a registry setting that controls how many entries can be listed?

I left it running overnight last night and the listing was expanded this morning. I guess it's slow but sure.
