Join challenge, log a ride of any length (manually will do apparently) and sign up to their email list and you'll get a month of free strava premium, or if you're paid up, a voucher for their shop.

Please Note: To receive the free trial offer or discount code, you must be opted-in to Strava's email newsletter (called 'Updates and Tips' in the notifications settings on the mobile app). The email containing the free trial offer or discount code will be sent at 10:00am PT on Tuesday, February 18th.

Just make sure you click on this option also.

I paid for premium strava and have to say it is not really worth it. Main useful thing for me is to be able to compare myself to others in my age group and weight bracket. Apparently I'm still the slowest!!

Oh yeah, I am expected to be the same, but I am not going to check this out. It would be like hiring an accountant to tell me that I am broke :pac:.

By the way I have cancelled the premium extension post the free period already. Am I right saying that there are cases where Strava may still charge you for the premium after your free Pro membership runs out?

I dip in and out of premium membership. I use the Android play store to do this, and have never had a problem being charged when it wasn't due. Just remember to downgrade before the renewal date. It's nice to be able to compare your performance to other old codgers, a bit less depressing than comparing yourself to young lads.

I like the app and to be honest I think the reason I'm still a premium member is to thank the developers.

Yeah, but there was nothing I received by email. On the right top corner on the Strava dashboard there was an option to upgrade to premium and that was all, I just followed the instructions (PayPal or credit card details required).

No email here either. The discussion tab on the challenge page on strava has plenty of folk with the same issue. My epic 2km cycle may go unrewarded. An outrage.

If you have a power meter I think you get far more out of it
