painting coving

    Hi i tried to paint my coving with emulsion but it doesnt look right sny sugestions as to whats the best psint to usr

    Apply coat of oil based undercoat with 20% white spirit Then several coats of white matt emulsion.

    Is the coving new? What kind of emulsion did you use? How many coats? When you say it doesn't look right, what do you mean?

    If you are using a cheap emulsion it could take a few coats to cover and even then it still might not look right. If there's stains coming through then get yourself at tin of bin primer, that'll kill off any stains. In future when you are buying paint look for trade paints eg dulux trade emulsion. The trade versions are always better.
