So with less than 24hrs to flight (less than 1500km), Aerlingus informs me that due to technical difficulties, my flight has been cancelled.

Now I have been offered a refund/reschedule which I expected, but am I entitled to compensation?

I looked at their cancellation pdf and Im still not sure if I qualify for compensation,

Anyone who has gone through this care to enlighten me?
I had booked 2 tickets if this makes any difference

    Any guidance, help appreciated

if its extraordinary circumstances, or you are offered a similar alternative flight, then you are not entitled to compensation.
Not sure if run of the mill technical difficulties would count as an extraordinary event though.

According to EU Airline regulation 2004. article 8, it states that you are entitled to a refund or rebooking plus compensation, 250e if its less than 1500km for costs of booking other tickets/alternative travel arrangement's etc
