Work warning for mistake in something I wasn't trained in

The warning is for unmatching four cheques from the invoices they were paying. There is no financial repercussions for the firm.

1.I did not realize that if you just highlight transactions in the account when scrolling and unmatch a transaction elsewhere in the account the previous transactions are unmatched. No training I received said this and no procedure mentions this.
    2. I really think this is a software bug/flaw. The software should give you a warning that you are cancelling more than one transaction. If it prompted you that you are cancelling matching in more than one transaction, this would give you a warning.

You could take a look at your paperwork, as to whether you have a written contract and whether there is a written dispute resolution policy.

Whether there is a written dispute resolution policy or not, sometimes there may be a strategic question as to whether it is better to dispute early or whether is better to dispute at a later point, should matters escalate.

You could consult a solicitor. If you are a member of a union, an experienced union rep may be able to offer advice at no additional cost to you.
