Can't comment on the mileage but I have an 05 1.4 Focus LX and not a single thing has ever gone wrong with it. Near 100,000km on the clock and I've been driving it since 2007.

That particular car looks in good nick, no visible dents from a quick glance at it. The mileage isn't that excessive for a petrol, about 14.5k miles per year. Decent NCT too.

Looking at this one too http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/renault-lagunia-for-sale/6216582 looks like a good deal with lowe mileage and long NCT but bit worried about its reputation...

    Be careful op.

These things eat driveshafts and clutches alive with their sheer power !

:p On a more serious note that looks like a decent example, good luck if you go with it.

I heard they eat tyres too. The tyres struggle with the shear amount of bhp and torque that engine produces.

Ah no out of them two links the focus is probably the safer bet as a laguna can be a bit hit and miss I think in terms of reliability.

Them wood pieces in the laguna are awful. They look like they were stuck on randomly by a child!

I like them astra but the whole 100k km is not very believable on that one the seat looks worn along with the steering wheel maybe it's just the pictures or the way I'm looking at them. But I had a similar astra with 160k km on it and there was no wear on the inside they are hard wearing. Vauxhalls will always make less than opels secondhand bear that in mind. There is nothing wrong with imports but you need to be sure of there history and mileage etc. and that one linked is rough enough looking tbh.

When I had one of these the only issue I had with it is with the rear windscreen wiper. Water leaks into the wiper housing and travels down to the boot lid shorting out the boot lock switch. A tell tale sign of this is to check the number plate light housing for signs of water or rust. Not an expensive fix but annoying all the same if the boot gets stuck while locked.
