    Hi everyone

i am looking at a couple of cars at the moment from 2 different dealers. they both seem new-ish, and one has had a good review recently.

Both seem nice, but 1 is allowing me to bring the car to my mechanic, the other not. i am not saying which one is which.

    one is http://www.mannixmotors.ie

    the other is http://www.capitalmotors.ie/

does anybody have any feedback on them?

I'd focus on the actual car, rather than the dealer. That said, it seems obvious that the one who won't let the car be examined is out.

    Thanks for that.

There are so many dealers out there its hard to keep track who to trust.

I know its about the car but there are places that are so unpleasant that it doesnt matter about the car anymore

If he wont let the car be checked out then he might have something to hide.

Maybe they'd let the mechanic come look at it though?

Yes he will so thats not the issue, just wondering if anyone bought anything from them before, although it would seem not

I've heard a few horror stories of cars being let out to be examined by mechanics only to be bashed, scraped and in one case, come off a ramp. So I wouldn't rule out a dealer on the fact they won't let it leave a forecourt for such. Most of a pre-inspection if visual and the drive itself. The only thing you would potentially miss would be an emissions test and any deeper engine problems.
