Can't figure this out if someone could help me..... why black doesn't capture the knight on e5 in his eleventh move. And why white doesn't move the knight after that?

Black should definitely take the knight.

Could it be that there is a mistake in the record of the game and that white actually played Bg5 or some other move instead of Nxe5? Re8 would be a natural move after Bg5 to get out of the pin.

Must be a mistake in the book i'm looking at. Thanks for looking at that, much appreciated.
