    Hello everyone,
So I came down to 2 choices VW Polo 2000-2002 1.0l or Ford fiesta 98-02 1.25 Ghia.
Polo- 200 cheaper tax. 350 cheaper insurance.
It will be used to travel 60km 2 way trip daily, motorway about 50 km. So 120 km daily.
Car will only be used for a year then will get something bigger. Insurance is killing me so those 2 choices.
Please help me with good suggestionts, and proper reasons why one is better then the other one. Thank you.

The 1.0 wont give great mpg at 120km/h on a motorway.
Also the fiesta is nicer all round i think

Fiesta without a doubt. 1.25 16v engine is a great little unit.

Get a Zetec or Ghia - plenty of spec.

Neither; a corolla or a yaris.

Out if those two I'd get the fiesta.
    Or a 1.4 polo

I'd prefer an 01 Corolla to both.

A corolla was cheaper than a fiesta to insure for me for what it's worth. Better engine than the Feista and won't rust to pieces.

Watch those Fiestas, they are notorious for rust, sills, arches, etc normally rust bad especially these days when the newest examples are 12 years old.

As noted, that model Fiesta is noted for rust. Otherwise they're a sturdy, reliable, and are a million times nicer than a 1.0 Polo.

Corollas don't rust, but then again they have their own issues to contend with, any of the 00-02 models are highly likely to burn oil. Also the radios don't work properly, if at all on many of them.

For a Corolla to be 'better' than a Fiesta you need to be looking at the models before 2000, as they were unbreakable.

Though I would prefer a 2002 onwards Fiesta, much, much safer and no issues with rust. No other reliability issues other than those caused by lack of maintenance.
