Rugby World Cup 2015

I have been tasked with planning a trip from texas to the world cup. 4 of us confirmed as of now, but will go up to about 8 i'd say.

I have never been to one before so not sure how the ticketing process works. The guys want to have freedom to float about as they please so don't want one of the supporter tour packages which went on sale last month. Realistically are we expecting all the games to be sold out quickly?

Should I try to get in with a club and get tickets from them first? Or get us all to apply for the lottery of general tickets and hope that we can get some.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I would imagine you will have a very good chance of getting tickets through the lottery depending on what games you want to go to. A lot of the "minnow" games are in ludicrously large stadia and massively overpriced so I think there will be a lot of tickets floating around.

I don't think clubs will be distributing many tickets for this.

cheers, games they are looking at were USA vs south africa & samoa. Then also a trip to cardiff for either Ireland Canada or ireland France. Figured those would be the harder ones to get.

The irish games will be very tricky to get tickets to but both american games shouldnt be an issue. Samoan game is scheduled for Brighton a 30k stadium and South African game is in the Olympic Stadium. Shoulnt be huge amount of hassle to get tickets to either of them

I'd also recommending joining the Irish supporters club on the www.irishrugby.ie website. I imagine there will be tickets available through there. Just buy a junior membership, as they are none the wiser.

    Bumping this thread.

I'm in the same boat as OP.

About 3/4 minimum are looking to go over for a long weekend to the world cup.

The plan is to drive a camper van over then go to NZ Vs Tonga in Newcastle, Oz vs Wales in Twickenham then Ireland vs France in Millennium stadium.

What do you reckon our chances are for getting tickets through the lottery? I can be at the computer the very second they go on sale once I have a heads up of the time and date that they will go on sale.

Has anyone ever bought tickets from this site? I'm looking for tickets for the Ireland vs. Italy match but they are unavailable on the RWC website but you are able to buy them from viagogo.ie. Anyone have any suggestions?
