On the 31st of Jan 14, I recieved a call from axa concerned I had not renewed my policy that was due to end at midnight. They said they were offering me a cheaper price and to go online and pay and my car would be insured again. I went online to see a yearly quote for €0.04. I thought there was a mistake and left the site. I returned approximately 3 times to see the price remained the same. That night I did as they asked and renewed the policy. I have screen shots of every stage of the transaction. It said I had paid in full for the year ahead until Jan 31st 2015. I recieved an email to thank me for paying in full. Then the next day I recieved my insurance disc and policy details. Today the Insurance company tried to take €143 from my acc. I'm wondering if I my policy is valid by law. I went threw the process, leading me to believe I was in a contract with the company. Whether it was a mistake or not, I believed that the policy had to be honoured as they gave the price, I accepted, they took my money and sent me a disc and policy details. Can someone with more knowledge please tell me where I legally stand.

A solicitor would be your best bet, but you didn't honestly think 0.04 was correct did you?

Solicitor is the only one that can give you legal advice but as you knew the price was wrong you, as would any reasonble person, I'd not give you high hopes on keeping it at that price. You basically entered into a contract with a price you knew was wrong rendering the rest pretty much moot.
