Tried the fitness forum but not much luck. Looking for a thick exercise mat to use on wooden floors. I bought a yoga mat in argos which was fine for carpets but at home I have all wooden floors and it's pretty much useless.

Something similiar in quality to this would be great (they don't deliver to Ireland).

    Thanks

    16mm mat here:

Not as thick as the one you linked, but decent thickness.

Thanks for the link. Any experience with it yourself? Not sure myself if thickness or material is the most important thing I should be looking for.

Haven't used the mat - just the shop (it's in Sandyford round the corned from where I work, so I have dropped in a few times).

I have wooden floors too, and have to double up my yoga mat cos my knees are banjaxed.

Will you be using it for yoga? You may find it difficult to do any standing/balancing poses on a mat that thick; it's squishy and you'll wobble.

If basic mats are too thin it may be best to invest in a thicker but sturdier mat, such as Jade or Manduka Pro (5 to 7mm)...

No it won't be for yoga. Mainly stretching exercises on the floor.
