    Has anybody given a thought to all the open archaeological sites and the effect this weather will have on them?

    Well a lot of people were caught out today. Besides it's water clogging that makes excavation difficult. I've been happily snug digging away in trench's and pits in many a howling wind.
    I wouldn't dig in today's conditions if the site were near construction work, trees and buildings.
