I think today's weather is so bad that it deserves its own thread. Could be useful for anyone travelling around the city too.

    I'll start it off:

    - Tree down on Grange Park Road near Newtown School (source: Damien Tiernan on Twitter earlier)
    - Tree down by the library in Lisduggan - apparently cleared already though (source Jennie Loughran on Twitter).

If anyone knows of any other hazards, or can update the status of these, please do.

This is actually getting rather scary, I can hear my roof flexing and creaking, the last 10-20 have been very bad indeed. Hopefully this is the worst of it.

Little did I know when I started this thread that I would end up leaving work early, because two trees came down in my garden. One huge one fell cleanly into the neighbour's garden. If it had fallen differently it could either have landed on my kitchen or his, and God knows what would have happened if someone had been in.

Looking on the bright side, the big tree that I had been so nervous about is now gone! :D I'll happily deal with the three-metre hole that's now straddling our boundary...

The other tree fell out onto the road but a kind man with a chainsaw (thanks Eoin) made short work of it. Unbelievable how kind and selfless people can be! :)

Naah, I offered it all to him in return for the help naturally enough, but he said he already had plenty.

Wouldn't take payment either... genuine neighbourly help! :D
