Animal Friendly Dentist Stuff

I need to do more research into this, but I haven't been to the dentist in about 10 years because I want to avoid stuff that's been tested on animals as much as possible. My teeth are in seemingly perfect condition, no hassle with them, but I'd like to go for a check up just to be sure. Does anyone have any experience being the "difficult crazy patient" at a standard practice? Can anyone recommend a dentist that is open to discussion on different options should I wish to have anything done?

EDIT to add; I'll pretty much travel anywhere, but ideally Kildare / Dublin.
