    Hi,
I still don't have my race numbers for my jersey. The club gave me my licence number but that's all, no card and no numbers. I know about back log in cycling Ireland, but what can I do for this weekend to race! Go all creative and make my own numbers? I oviously know my race number!
Anyone know what can done, don't want to turn up and be told you can't race.

If you've paid up and have a number then you're officially a member of CI and covered by insurance. However, you mightn't be let start due to having no numbers displayed. I've seen people be let race in the past with ad-hoc or home made numbers. I suspect that this may be down to the discretion of the commissaires.

Thanks for that, Vladmir, so best thing to do is contact Newbridge Cycling Club.

Its the commissaires, not the organising club who would decide whether you could start or not.

Would it be a case of paying/loaning out temporary numbers ?
I'm waiting a month for my 'package' from CI.

    Ok, thanks

I'm still waiting on my race numbers also. Can anyone here confirm if they have received their race numbers or is there just a delay in CI?

I've got my numbers and I know a fair few people who have. But there also seems to be a lot who haven't.

My other half won't be able to race at all this weekend as she's been trying unsuccessfully since January to get on to the Cycling Ireland website to renew her licence.

I got my card and numbers about 3 weeks ago.

HI VladimirKurtains, do you know if anyone has received just their CI cards and not their race numbers?

You should print off the page from CI which shows that you paid. Bring along last years numbers and go to the commissaire with them. the comm will either let you race on them or will hire you out temp numbers for the race.

I'm in the same situation as the OP - I've paid for my racing licence, have had the CI email confirm but have not received anything in the post. This is my first racing licence, so I don't have any numbers etc. I can use from last year. CI said I am able to race, but given I don't have any numbers how can I find out in advance if I'm allowed to enter if it's just up to the commissaires and not the organising club?

I had this happen last year.

    1. Showed up with a print out of the confirmation I had paid.
    2. Was given a temporary number, for which I had to pay a deposit.
    3. Returned number after race, deposit was returned.

    Simplez.

It looks like I'll have to do the same again this year.

My application went in on the day they opened up and my number was confirmed within a day or two. My numbers now appear to be stuck in the ether somewhere (last time I saw it was pictured on the front page of the CI Website!)

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how did you know your race number, or how did they have a temporary one for you?
I've logged in to CI website but all I see are my licence number and UCI code

The numbers at the end of your licence number are your race numbers.

    14A30123 - 123 is the race number.

Your licence number includes your race number. So if your licence number is 14A30421, then your number would be 421.

However, in the case of issuing of temporary numbers, what usually happens is that they've a stock of old numbers. They'll give you one and take a note of it.

And I would suggest if you need a temp number get there early as they will be inundated!!!

At this rate they will. I seem to recall at the AGM in 2012 that it was mentioned their new system could process several thousand applications and get the renewal packs out to members overnight ....

... might have to think about bringing some old IVCA numbers along to races as there's a fair chance they will be a different colour to the CI ones and easier to differentiate from any duplicate CI ones ...

The One Day back numbers will be available to those who do not have them. Please being proof, either print out or even just showing the e mail confirmation on your phone, otherwise you will have to take out an Event licence. (€20 plus sign on fee, plus number deposit) They will more than likely be charged a deposit (normally 10euro) on them to ensure their return as they will most likely be required for a number of weeks yet.

What I do suggest is bring enough safety pins to pin on the two numbers as the Commissaires are normally issued the batch of numbers without pins and will more than likely not have any.

Over 9000 licences have been successfully processed. I was informed that 2000 licences were in Cycling Ireland being prepared for dispatch as of yesterday and that they are pretty much on track now to process licences as they come in.

If you haven't received any response to your e mail, I suggest trying again through a newly formed enquiry page :
    http://www.cyclingireland.ie/page/contact-us

The problem being so many people have e mailed in queries that by the time the staff are getting to them the issues have already resolved themselves and it is wasting staff time now. So this may be a more favourable way of getting in contact.

note: I don't work for CI, this is just information I have garnered over the past few days.
