    Thinking of cycling up to Sally Gap Tomorrow..anyone know if there's any frost/ice about? ;)

    Yeah the Lion of Fingal said he would go. He hasnt had a decent fall since ..errrr..december...but that may have been wine induced.

    I wouldn't recommend cycling the gap tomorrow unless you have stabilisers.

    Anyone know what the conditions are like up the Sally gap. Have understandably been avoiding it for the last while

    Hoping to venture up on Saturday morning from Glencree side and descend in Laragh, provided we don't get a hard frost.

    it doesnt sound that bleak. The wind doesnt seem that strong. I was planning to head out that way tomorrow but even if the wind isnt that strong the exposure would put me off

    I was up there wednesday, it was grand, not much wind and no ice or snow at road level. Wouldn't have chanced Kippure but everything else seemed fine.

    Ya will probably stick to Johnny foxes but do the loop by viewing point and head back to glencree.

    I also like to take in 'slaughter hill' from the Newtown Mount Kennedy side. That is a nice sheltered climb but might be too far if you haven't much time.
