Help buying a car

Hey trying to have a look for a new car.

Most of the "old reliables" e.g. golf, focus etc now only come in diesel engines.

Looking for a 2011/2012 car - in or around 15,000/16,000 euro
1.4 or 1.6 petrol engine. Dont mind too much about 3 door/5 door, but would prefer probably a 3 door.

any one have any ideas?

Hyundai i30 or Kia C'eed are fine cars, don't worry about the badge. They come with long warranties and there are few horror stories from owners.

I've not drove one myself but i've been in a friends i30 plenty of times and he loves it and it's quite a nice place to sit.

His is diesel though so I can't tell you how the petrol engine performs. Take one for a test drive.
