Signing off then back on query

I signed off last Friday as I thought I'd be starting a full time job yesterday. Unfortunately during my first day I was told some of the shifts I was expected to work would be a lot earlier than I thought and therefore I would not be able to get there on time as I do not drive and am dependant on bus times, also occasionally I would be expected to work in another location even further away. Due to these reasons I am unable to continue with the job and will not be paid for the day I worked. I know I was stupid and should have figured all this out before I signed off.
I now need to sign back on for job seekers benefit. I am wondering how my payments would be affected by this? Is there any kind of waiting period where I wouldn't receive payments for a number of weeks? Any advice or your own experiences in a similar situation would be much appreciated.

Im in a similar position. Was on JSA but started a job 4 weeks ago d2d sales. Genuinely hate the job and is driving me crazy and just making me feel depressed. If I left off my own accord would I have to wait the 9 week period? Or is my claim still open seems it was such a sort time ago?

I made a huge mistake taking the job, was looking at college courses before I took it but now afraid I wouldn't get back to education either

come off it lads, it's the likes of you that gives genuine job seekers a bad name.

complaining cause the work starts too early? go back to bed and play the playstation while the rest of the country pays your wages. disgraceful behaviour.
