    Hello,

Hoping someone can help. I've posted another thread about me moving back to Ireland from the UK as my ex has cheated and I am 6 months pregnant.

I have worked since I was 13 and had 2 jobs pretty much from the time I was 16 so i've always paid my contributions.

Now I have to move home I am worried about what I may be entitled to. I have lived in the UK just under 2 years and will be getting maternity benefit from my job. 37 weeks at 6 weeks full pay, 6 weeks half and the rest £134 a week. It's not going to leave me with very much to live on so I therefore need to know what I can claim for upon my return.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    .
    Thanks

When are you intending to come back?
Will you be paid your Maternity benefit while your abroad (here)?
Do you intend to return to work when your maternity leave ends?
When did you last make a PRSI contribution here?
What payment did you intend to apply for here?

I'm coming back in the next 6 weeks. I'm not sure what to do about my maternity benefit in the uk, I am entitled to 6 weeks full pay and 6 weeks half and the rest in statutory but if I leave the job permanently I won't get anything so whilst I'm not planning on going back I don't want to officially leave until I finish my maternity leave.

My last prsi contribution was may 2012. I'm not sure what I can apply for so that's why I posted here.

    Thanks for your reply

So your 6 months pregnant and you think you will return here at approx.. 30 weeks.
Will you be starting your UK maternity leave and benefit then? Are you sure you can transfer it to here?
You won't be entitled to Irish Maternity Benefit.
There is an outside chance of a Job seekers Benefit payment but only very remote and you would have had to quit your UK job, and their likely to refuse you as not looking for or available for work.
I can't see you qualifying for anything really, but I stand to be corrected on that.
