I'm heading to the Philippines in April and my route is Dublin - Abu Dhabi - Manilla - Cebu.

My question is will I need a transit visa for Abu Dhabi? My flights are connected within each airport I land in so I dont believe I need a transit visa?

Ive been to the philippines before last year and the route was differant, Dublin - France - hongkong - cebu. I didn't need a transit visa for Hong Kong but Abu Dhabi?

    Cheers :)

No, you don't. If you have enough time you can leave the airport without a visa too for a look around, assuming you have an Irish passport.

I flew back from the Philippines to Ireland via Abu Dhabi with Etihad last year, there is no problem transiting or entering the UAE when you have an Irish passport. My outbound flight from Manila to Abu Dhabi was delayed and I ended up having to spend one day in Abu Dhabi waiting for the next flight to Dublin.

If you do have a long layover I recommend seeing Abu Dhabi. I had a 14 hour layover a couple years back enroute back from Thailand and I left the airport and had more than enough time to see all the sites. Its not somewhere I would choose to go to for a dedicated holiday so it was cool to just get a quick glimpse of it at no real additional cost to my Thailand trip.

Plus you also get an awesome UAE stamp in your passport!
