I have a 12 insignia diesel (does anyone have a petrol one??). Anyways, there a slight vibration when accelerating at about 2000 rev mark in 3rd or 4th or 5th gear but its only intermittent, it can be there now, gone in 10 mins time. Its not massive but its not as smooth as it was......
    Any ideas?

Could it be first signs of the DMF going? Bit early for that though unless its very high miles for a 12. What is the mileage? Any rattle off the clutch pedal when you depress and release slowly with the car in neutral?

Its got 48k km. Theres no rattle from the clutch pedal and the vibration tends to go completely for most of the time. I was thinking of the DMF but it can pull away in 2nd etc no problem

That would be very early for a DMF. Recent service done? I know my 2009 Mondeo diesel has all sorts of running issues if the filters are left in too long. Not really a vibration though I guess.

    Worn engine mount?

You really need to have it looked at though. Should still be under Opel warranty.

It was only serviced in first week of Jan and it only has given these problems since then. Rang garage and they said to pop in when passing some day. Still under warranty for another 3 months so no hurry

Get it in as early as possible, leaving it to the last minute of warranty means it could potentially be messy if a couple of fixes are tried. Worth sticking a thread up on the insignia owners forum in the UK.

Could be a lot of things.
Only way to know for sure is to stick it up on a lift and check nothing has play in it.

Driving it will only tell you if the problem is gone away and rarely helps with diagnosing the problem.

Just to update on this. I brought it to a dealer in March and found nothing wrong. (of course it behaves on that date!!). Anyways, it has gotten worse since and at the moment, there is a rough power delivery when you accelerate in any gear 3+ at the 2k rev mark MOST times. Still no warning lights or codes.... I have driven the bones of 10,000km since the problem started
Taking it to the dealer next week. One mate said it might be dirty diesel but surely it wouldn't have taken 10,000km and car would have given up or done something more??

edit: posted on insignia forum UK and suggests EGR valve as its happening when turbo should kick in.......
