    Hi all,
well the dishwasher has given up the ghost and has decided to stop heating the water. This is following the thermostat being replaced twice in the last year or so. After 8 years I think its served its time and a replacement could be the best option. The main considerations are with the water charges coming the consumption of water, and secondly a machine that will allow the washers to spin without being blocked by the plates when placed on the bottom shelf.... the plates we use aren't even that big, but they have always blocked the rotation of the washers in the model we have...
Any recommendations on good deals that suit at the moment?
    Thanks

We have top of the range integrated bosch and it's the best thing we could have ever hoped for 29 minute quick wash. Adjustable racks and a deprecate top cutlery drawer do more space down below for plates.

I had a Blomberg single oven which I bought in 1989, I bought it because it was a reliable (west) German brand. However I had to scrap it a few years ago because I couldn't source any replacement parts, even the basic consumables like the grill element. Blomberg in this part of the world seemed to have vanished.

Having spotted the post above, I went looking and lo and behold, the brand seems to have risen from the ashes but when I visited their website and clicked on 'United Kingdom' (because there was no Ireland option), I see that the UK distributor is called Blomberg (Beko plc). Digging down a bit further, I find that the Blomberg brand is now owned by a Turkish company called Arçelik which is the company whose white goods bear the Beko brand.

So essentially when you buy a Blomberg, it's really a Beko.

What exactly do you mean by 'It's still a good quality product' Like, compared to what - other Beko products or Blomberg products before or after the brand name was purchased off the shelf by Beko?

Your aunt has a washing machine which she uses 'three times a day' - is she the housekeeper of the local orphanage or what? If it's the 'best she's ever had', would you care to tell us which other brands she's comparing it to?

The Blomberg brand is now just a flag of convenience for Beko and your endorsement stinks.

I'll chip in here- we replaced our old dishwasher with a new Siemens before Christmas and we're very happy with it. Top cutlery drawer took some getting used to but it means so much more room for dishes below and cutlery is cleaner now too. We now get away with putting 1 wash on per day, the old machine would average 1.5 washes per day to keep up with the demands of our household. I mainly use the ECO wash function and find it good for even the dirtiest of dishes, caserole dishes etc.
