Chain/cassette trouble

I have had my chain and cassette replaced by lbs during a service. Gears are working perfectly while on the turbo in both big and small ring at the front. When I get out of the saddle (outdoors only and in the small ring) the chain slips no matter which gear im in, all ok in the big ring. Any advice on a quick fix as going back to the lbs is too much hassle if I can sort it easily myself.
    Thanks in advance,
    JD

its a stiff link. rotate the cranks backwards and look at the chain going thru the derailleur. hopefully you will see it out of shape. when you find it hold it between thumbs and forefingers and bend away and towards you. that will loosen it up.

    Thanks for the reply Morana.

I just ran the chain forward and backwards through all the gears and all seems ok. It only appears to slip whilst out of the saddle for some strange reason.

It's not that strange Jack. It may be caused by your bike frame flex when loaded.

Its a stiff link..they can be difficult to detect. I find the best way is to mark one link and then with your hands, move each link individually...its the only way to be sure. (only takes a minute or two)

Sounds to me like your inner chainring is probably worn and in need of replacement.

Thanks for the advice. I've replaced the inner chainring and all seems good on the turbo, no slipping at all, and ony cost €26 :-)
It was a difficult enough job removing the two front chainrings as bolts where well aged.
The up side is everything got a good clean, bike looks as good as new and ready for the wkend.
