Thought this might interest some here: http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/tickets?directlink=en-GB/shows/tours%20of%20aldwych%20underground%20station/events
There’s a rare opportunity to take a tour of the disused Aldwych Underground station in the Strand from Thursdays to Sundays in June 2014. Led by expert guides, the public will be able to see the ticket hall, abandoned platforms and tunnels, and inter-connecting walkways – including some that have very rarely been seen by the public.

Aldwych station is one of London’s secret places, holding myths and memories of times gone by. It opened to the public in 1907. It was never heavily used as originally intended and so it closed nearly 100 years later in 1994.The station has had a varied history; it provided shelter to Londoners during the Blitz and has been used for film shoots including Patriot Games, Mr Selfridge and Atonement. The tours will involve groups of up to 40 people and will run from Thursday 5 until Sunday 29 June.

Sold out according to that link. I would have loved to have gone on the tour.

If they sell out this rapidly, it'd perhaps make sense to schedule more dates and get more revenue?

Watch any TV programme or film featuring the underground and you'll see Aldwych Station (or Charing Cross Jubilee disused sometimes).

It's the only LU disused station that's still manned 24 hours used for trials of surface finisheds, safety training exercises and numerous other uses.

Just in case anyone hasn't been there, this is a good website for anyone interested in the more arcane facts of the underground.

Just checked and they seem to have added extra tours which aren't sold out.
