in my dining room I have 6 spotlights (each on their own individual transformer). They are controlled by a dimmer switch.

the lights started to flicker today and then would go completely and return again a second or two later.

Is it likely the switch needs to be replaced or something else???

The chances are it is the switch.

Or one of the connections at the switch are loose, or possibly the switch before the affected one on the circuit might have a loose connection.

Even if it is the switch, take the few minutes and check each of the six lights while you are at it for safety and to eliminate potential future hassle
