    hi

i'm self-employed and applying for med card based on latest 2013 accounts

the tax office no longer issue notices of assessment anymore for self-employed people

i rang the medical card people and they said i need a load of documentary proof of income etc.

i spoke to the tax office and they said no...that the medical card people have access to the revenue records detailing income etc. and that there's no need for me to furnish documentation

    any ideas?? thanks

When you file your income tax return online, you are issued a notice of assessment. You could file your tax return for 2013 which is not due until Oct 2014 early, pay any tax that is due in October and have your notice of assessment in ROS.

they don't issue notices of assessment anymore

they have been discontinued..i'm just off the phone to tax office on this

instead they issue a basic letter with an income figure on it...unfortunately the medical card people are not up to speed on this
