Freesat post code problem

I have recently been having a problem with Freesat losing channels, and retuning has brought up 'invalid postcode' error. Now the post code I use is SW1 1AA, so that is valid, so that is not the problem.

Investigating, I cannot tune channel 999, which is where the Freesat info comes from, so I assume my dish has drifted off a bit. I am getting good signal for BBC SD and HD, but a few channels are down, like France 24.

What is the best channel to tune on to get the 999 back at full strength?

All the Freesat data appears to be carried on Eutelsat 28A 11428H (http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php)

I would look at dish alignment too.

I believe all of Eutelsat's payload will be moving to Astra at some stage so there may be no need to realign the dish.

Any idea when the move will take place?

My France24 is weak and that is Eutelsat 28.2 so I will use that to reallign the dish.

    Thanks for the info.

Someone speculated over on DS that it could be fairly soon, they will be moving to 2E, 2F and 2G (which launches later this year).

I tried a tweak of the dish and had a bit of success. I tilted the dish back a smidgen and France24 went from poor to very good. On the other TV, 999 went from zero to good. Quality is high on most channels but strength is quite low, but errors are all zero (on the channels I watch) but some of the dross channels are still unwatchable (not that I am bothered).

So, for anyone interested, Freesat needs ch 999 to operate properly (as far as postcodes are concerned).

Difficult to get the dish spot-on without a meter in hand but someone watching the meter in the box while you very slowly adjust the dish helps.
