Just changed the wiper blades with Bosch wiper blades.
I have cleaned the windscreen thoroughly with proper window cleaner that has vinegar.
Have sprayed oil on wiper blades
Wipers are on the correct way.

    Still Screeching, Any ideas?

Try a different brand of blades maybe? I got blades before in Halfords (I think they were Bosch) and they were awful. Changed them at my local motor factors and the new ones were fine.

I actually bought ones in motor factors just before getting the Bosch ones and they were alot worse so that's why I changed to Bosch, which are better but still screeching

    You did what ?

I find that many window cleaners are not adequate for the job.
Sometimes I've had to resort to a good scrubbing with a green kitchen scouring pad (harmless to glass) and hot detergent, rinse, then finished off with a good quality windscreen polish.

What kind of detergent? and what kind of windscreen polish?

I find Bosch blades rubbish, check the price of OEM blades.

I had Bosch blades on for over a year before this with no problems, so is there something else wrong?

I had this screech too from new wiper (Bosch maybe, can't remember now) and cleaned everything and it still made noise. After a while it just sorted itself, maybe the wipers just settled.

Not those any of those car wash liquids that contain waxes for sure.
Simple old Fairly Licksquid worked well for me. Normally not recommended to use to wash the rest of the car because it apparently can clean wax off paintwork but that's exactly what I want it to do to the grease on the windscreen.
Any good brand of glass polish, such as this

Sometimes the holder for the wipers need a little twist to make the blades match the angle of the windscreen.

You mean the metal arm part needs a twist?

Try some decent screenwash? It always makes my wipers run more smoothly.

Bosch wipers are usually excellent IME - they're the OEM for VAG brands.

Like others have said, make sure your windscreen is cleaned with a proper cleaner. A 50/50 mix of isopropanol and water is an excellent degreasing cleaner but keep it away from paintwork as it will strip off any wax there. Make sure you clean the blades also. When you've cleaned the 'screen polish it with an automotive glass polish (the Autoglym one is very good).

If they're still juddering after this, check the alignment as zerks suggested. This is a trial-and-error process until the juddering stops. An adjustable spanner is good for twisting the wiper arm a little at a time while having control over it.

What car do you have? My wifes car had screeching wipers but it was the wiper mechanism itself that was making the noise. Common problem in Nissans made around Y2k.

I don't know about that! I used one of those pad's years ago to try and remove some stubborn baked on flies. The scouring pad left loads of scratches all over the glass, really annoying and distracting in direct sunlight / oncoming traffic!

That would be a mechanic's job to fix the mechanism?

if the screen and blades are clean, cut a potato in half, and rub it on the blades. crazy as it sounds, it works :)

I've never had a problem with the standard kitchen one such as the Killeen Easi-Clean. I use plenty of water and I can usually feel where the screen is dirty (pad grips) or clean (pad glides).

I've even seen some US websites recommending using 0000 (4 zero) grade wire wool as been effective and completely safe. Haven't tried it as I've only been able to find 000 (3 zero) grade which is much courser and will scratch the $*!& out of windscreen glass

I greased mine up which fixed it, and later i replaced it myself. Easy enough to do if you take your time.

But yes a mechanic might be needed. What car do you have?

It was that Killeen one I used! The green "scouring" side of it... maybe I was a little over vigourous with it but it definitely did damage. If I wasn't changing the car a few months later I'd probably have resorted to getting the screen changed...

I oiled my brakes ... stopped them squeeling also. :pac:

Hmmm! Must make a note of that tip, right under oiling the windscreen!

Much talk of cleaning the "windowscreen" but not a whole lot about cleaning the new wipers. Try your gentle scouring pad and washing up liquid on the wipers. After all, you didn't have squeaks with the old wipers......or did you?

This might be stating the bleedin' obvious to some people, but it is not unheard-of for wiper blades of different lengths to suit some cars much better.
