was asked by a neighbour to do a small bit around his farm today while he was away. landed in to find the tractor wouldnt start probably due tot the frost, it would barely turn over. i have cables and a van to start it from but it's parked alongside some machinery on the side of the battery box and I can't get the van in close enough but I can get to the starter. how do I connect the van to the starter? I dont want to burn out the starter or burn the entire tractor for that matter either.

There's a cold start button on the side of the fuel pump, looks like a little button sticking out of the side of a larger hexagon nut.
Open the throttle fully and press this (should stay in), then try starting again. Might save you a bit of bother!

I had that button in, I primed the lift pump fully and even put in 2 squirts of easy start but there isnt enough juice in the battery to turn the engine fast enough

You could tow the tractor out into the open so as to get access to the battery box. Or tow to start, they would'nt be a heavy tractor.
