Just checked and my health insurance doesn't cover x-rays and I may need one. Very very annoying considering my premium just went up.

Does anyone know how much an x-ray of my hand would cost in total?

About 70 in most private clinics but it would be free publicly if you have a referral letter

Yes but few public hospitals will give same day Xray unless there is going to be an immediate clinical intervention so for most that means Chest X-rays you will get same day, others you will get an appointment which in my experience of referring people can be up to 6 weeks time

Fee for privates sounds about right, may be slightly cheaper but you would have to ring them to find out - all the private hospitals do this and also the VH swift clinics as do the Euromedic radiology centres so lots of choices and competition in that arena

Save the receipts you may get some return from your insurer re out-patient benefits at years end -- IF NOT receipts can be used for MED-1 tax return
