Hi all, can anyone tell me where I can buy an airbrush and mini compressor for painting scale model ships, planes etc. Also where can I get good acrylic paints to suit? Thanks in advance.

Lidl had them a few weeks ago, Halfords also do a kit with compressed air that might be worth a look http://reviews.halfords.com/4028/233742/reviews.htm Ask here on the Models forum they should be able to help you out http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=486

I got this one a while ago. It comes up on special from Rutlands for about half the price every so often.

You can get Revell, Tamiya and Humbrol paints from Marks Models or ID Models online. I'm sure there are plenty of others also.

Have to recommend Tamiya acrylics in an airbrush, they can be hard to come by but they always spray well. I love Humbrol enamels, and XtraColor, but they stink when sprayed

Revell AquaColor all the way here-odourless and economical-should be thinned with at least a third to half water and a few coats used.Toymaster Mary Street sells it in store or mail order from ID Models Wicklow .

Thanks fergal but this kit is no longer available from Halfords. Pity as it looked a decent kit.

Thanks for your feedback. I went with humbrol acrylics and bought an iawata air brush, dual action with mini compressor. Does a good paint job and would recommend it.
