    From a Connaught perspective

Last year athlones Sean Doyle was off 2 at the age of 14 and I'm not sure there were many lower than him at 14 as he cleaned up at the boys tournaments

ronan mullarney from Galway i think was scratch at 16

The race to scratch is one of the big problems in junior golf I think.

Kevin le blanc from the island was scratch at 14 last year. Good prospect.

    When I was 14, I thought it'd be another 26 years before I would play golf :o

Followed him a little at Irish Amateur last year - great first two rounds , but that event is a long haul in awful conditions.

Must be great for the young lads in The Island together - they seem to have a good thing going and the club is very supportive of them (By the looks of it)

Was very impressed with Paul McBride too - your watching these lads playing - you forget how young they are.

Correct that's who I'm thinking of. He's finished in the top 50 overall last week which was quiet decent

What was the deal with him lads?
As in, has he been a golfer all his life and recently dedicated a few years to seriously working on this, or is he a relatively late comer to the game?

Not harbouring hopes :) it would be interesting to hear the story

Really ? Fair play to him, that's actually inspiring (or maybe a sign that I'm getting old and more delusional :)!)
