A friend acquired a large Georgian house with 20 acres of land 5km from Clonakilty. Its in need of a bit of work but all electrics work and is very habitable. The land she is on is very pretty with a nice big driveway and mature gardens. She is looking for ideas to help pay for some work to be done on the house. The first thing that came to my mind was artist retreats or maybe she could rent a few of the larger rooms for activities like yoga or similar. The close proximity to Clon is ideal as it is a town rich in artist activity.

    What else would one do?

Its possible down the line but she would probably need to spend 20K or thereabouts to get to a reasonable 3 star B&B. The house has buckets of character and for those looking to stay in a traditional home I could see this doing well as a sort of guesthouse down the line.

I edited in a link to the house in my first post so people can have a look.
