As per title have an 06 Touareg and the satnav could be a bit more accurate! :)

To get an official VW DVD for the car would be in the region of €2-300 if memory serves.

Another option is to replace the whole unit with something like this:

Has anyone any experience with these kind of alternatives?

Those yokes are useless, Is that a RNS 510???

    Thanks Trucker.
I don't know what an RNS 510 is?

They read well but feedback (real world) always invaluable.

They are really low build quality, screens are rubbish, all sorts of trouble integrating to the OEM systems and the maps are even harder to update. Can't implore you enough to not waste your money. You could probably pick up the updated disc on eBay or similar if you look hard enough.

There's a lad in Dublin that advertises on done deal for updating vag sat navs. I can't for the life of me remember his name or from looking at the adverts pick which one he is unfortunately.

But any of them may be worth a call to see if they have a copy they could install.

I have V10 maps on DVD if the OP is based in munster and I can meet up somewhere but as Ironclaw says those units are rubbish.

North Louth here Trucker but is it an easy thing to swap the dvd's over?

I know that sounds stupid but no codes required etc.

Nope only stick the DVD in the drive and wait about 30 mins for it to download.
