I've no idea what they're protesting, but they're sure protesting the hell out of it. Fella I know saw one protest first hand, very amusing story how he tells it. Fair play to them.

There's a photo of me wrestling a young cop at a protest in Athlone in some newspapers archives.
    Tempers got hot that day

Sorry the audio is too low on my phone and in bed with a bad dose of manflu'.

It's not in Paris but in a department south west of Paris.

TBH the French can get away with this carryon because everybody is behind them- doctors, solicitors, shopkeepers ..... everybody. The farmer is king here because of the law, the law that says that land has to be divided amongst all siblings. Daniel o Connell helped get rid of this in Ireland. With this law everybody is a landowner(might be fairly small).
When you see those big fields, they could be owned by many people. I've one large field that had 57 owners! That is why France is an agrarian society.

saw them tipping loads of cauliflowers over bridges onto the road below years ago.........while they do protest full on and get much broader support from the public,it don't seem to be making much real difference......?....its a regular event like racing at the curragh, the beaurocrats and olligarks that call the shots don't give a sh1t and are not effected.

Farmers need to change smarten their approach, the thing that caused the most change in the Arab spring has been socail media....scares the hell out of the authorities......like fire, a wonderful slave but a terrible master.

having intellegent spokespeople who are media savy is vital to show up the 'dubline mentality' and counter the incomprehensible level of ignorance, stupidity and begrudgery that exists.

Going by the attendance at last weeks protest, Irish farmers don't want a protest. was very poor
