Wooden laminate floor screed or not screed

    Hi,

I have just removed tiles from hallway which came up 'relatively' easy with kango but now am left with the tile adhesive. I am currently removing (hammer and chisel - kango just obliterates into fine dust) and my intention is to lay a laminate floor. I plan to lay dpc, followed by 6mm fibreboard flooring underlay, followed by 12mm laminate click flooring. Question is do I need to screed the concrete floor before doing above? See pictures attached.

    Appreciate any advice

    Hey Dj
Thats a tedious job taking off all that tile adhesive.
Had you considered using floor leveling compound?
Knocking off the highest points first, even if you had to go with a second run of leveling compound, seems like it might be an easier option imho.

My preferred option but need to remove adhesive to keep new floor level with adjoining floors :(

p.s. not only tedious job but back-breaking as well.....

A right pain of a job.
Could any of the door/s coming onto this space be worked on.
Rebated/adjusted saddleboard and door/architrave trimmed to suit(architrave cut in situ so no paint damage),not a massive job, but a neat bit of carpentry needed for a nice finish.

    edit;Sorry,title smiley by mistake

Perhaps I should have posted before I started :(

Hallway has 4 doors opening onto it and behind 3 of them are different floors (bathroom tiles, kitchen tiles, living room wooden floor).

Wanted to maintain run from hallway into kitchen and cloakroom toilet without step-up. Difference now is ~ 20mm which should suit new floor!

Nearly there just 2 square meters left.............

Do you reckon I'll need to screed it though - I am laying a DPC sheet, 6mm fibreboard, before the 12mm floor. It's pretty even and the 6mm underlay should account for the small variations? I'm concerned about dust and concrete leaching

    cheers

Fair play, you made a plan of attack, you re nearly there with taking off adhesive. I cant see any problems, and the fibreboard plus insulation, they will all grade things nicely for you. It ll be a top job, good on ye.
