Commonage issues

For both sheep and cattle farmers who graze commonage lands.

What do you see are the issues needing to be resolved into the future in relation to farming on commonages?

Am looking for both problems and solutions.

Two examples, say if there was a stocking rate of 1000 sheep for one commonage with ten shareholders. Then that number should be fairly divided between shareholders. That is one share = 100 sheep or however many cattle the LU translation would represent.

Another example might be if burning was used as a management tool then two commonages might co operate that they would agree to burn at different areas of their commonages so as not to encourage sheep or cattle to stray onto a commonage they weren't entitled to graze on.
