If you've not heard from the college by the end of next week then give them a call and see if it is going ahead.

I would reckon that since it is a level 6 course, leading to a diploma, there is room in future for you to further your studies along the social media & communication path (which is apparently growing quite big in Ireland). It doesn't look to have anything to do with Job bridge but is a course run by SW who will most likely allow you to receive the same payment you are currently getting.

Certainly doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary, as you'll be attending classes for the first part of the course, then on placement for the other half (no doubt to gain experience in social media...most of this is online stuff like twitter, facebook, tumblr etc). Also, this is not my area of study in the college so cannot go into any detail other than what I've provided. You should see if the course is still going ahead, then make your decision to stay signed up and attend, or advise them you will not take the place and look for something else.
