    I am looking for an adaptor piece just the end bit see pic..can anyone advise where I might just get the pin please

    AFAIK, the RT Surface uses a proprietary 5 pin magnetic connector, I doubt you'll be able to get it on its own - your best bet is to pick up a cheap replacement charger form eBay or similar...
