I'm looking for an allen key to remove this type of screw.

Its for the cover of thermostat on a fridge.

Has anyone any ideas what the technical term is for it or where I'd get one.

    thanks

You'll need to buy a torx screwdriver for that. You can buy them in any hardware shop. You'll get a set of them for under €10

It looks like an external Torx drive, you may be able to get a tool for it from a motor factors or a specialist tool shop.

Look on-line for "external Torx driver"
