Is there any way in protools to link the volume of a sound to another parameter?

Kind of like the idea behind sidechain compression but being able to link the volume to other parameters such as pitch or reverb or any automatable parameter?

For example say I had a drum sample and I want it so that when the sample plays some other parameter changes according to the volume of the sample.

also if it can be done, can it be inverted?

Bit of a noob to protools sorry.
