6 owners?

I have my eye on a 07 Octavia RS with 80k miles, it looks very clean, but has had 6 previous owners? I thought that sounded a lot for the miles and age of the car?

Would this be a sign of issues with the car or am I over thinking it?

    Any opinions?

It's not necessarily a bad thing, but you should look into it all the same. It could mean it's been passed around for a reason. Do a complete history check and ask a mechanic to look over it.

6 previous owner so the current is the 7th and he's selling it again?

Sounds awful coincidental, I wouldn't touch it.

If it's bad or not depends on the car. But it'd be a pain in the hole to try sell it again.

    I'd pass. 100%.

2 owners hack a car, 3 wreck it and the rest pick up the pieces. Usually.

    "2 careful owners from new!"

"But the logbook says it has 6 owners?"

"Ya, not much can be said for the other four"

Mmmm.... Think I might look elsewhere. I don't really know a whole lot about mechanics so anything goes wrong, its gonna cost me!

A little off topic, for similar money I could get an Octavia, Mazda 6 or pass at, all 07 diesel... What would you go for?

Maybe it changed hands a few times for motor tax reasons.

Op, why don't you go for an 08 model. With the saving on tax, it may be a better bet.

A few years ago in London I bought a car with fourteen previous owners for £300 and drove it home from London without a problem. I passed three modern cars broken down on the motorway.
    It was a 1972 Rover P6

That was the original plan but a most 08's within my budget had higher mileage.
