Good mechanic to check out BMW purchase, Dublin

    Can anyone recommend a good mechanic who could check a BMW I am looking to buy second hand. (i'm based in Tallaght)
    I'm looking for someone who knows what to look out for in this model
    08 bmw 320i SE e90

    Those models suffer coil pack and injector failure. The diesels are even worse, with the infamous timing chain problem. Google BMW N47 timing chain and all will be revealed.

    If you're buying an E90, get one built before September 2007 (unless you're going for six cylinders i.e. 325 upwards) when they put all the Efficient Dynamics crap into them. Both petrol and diesel models before this build date do not suffer from any major issues and are reliable for a modern BMW (which is to say they're not really that reliable at all, but at least the problems they suffer can be rectified relatively cheaply).
