I currently have MICHELIN DYNAMIC SPORT 700x25 on the bike but was told that I should get Continental GatorHardshell 700c DuraSkin Folding Tyre as they are harder to get punctures on.

    Would anyone else recommend these.

Have you had many punctures on your current tyres?

Just bad luck so. I put about 4000 into my set before I started having issues. I found that they let shards etc through very easily so after a puncture always check the tire for what caused the puncture and remove it.

I switched to gatorskins after 5 punctures in 3 days. They had done their job.

Bad luck. Keep the tyre pressures up too.

Got sick of the punctures so got myself Gatorskin. Yes just one for the back wheel. I have ultermo on the front wheel for better grip but to be honest gatorskin seems to be as grippy as anything really. I have 700 km on the Conti now and not a single puncture.
Just today I hit huge stones on the road coming down the hill. Back wheel went over one of them, I went fu... here we go again, but no they were absolutely fine.
So I would recommend Gatorskin no problem. Reading reviews online and there is some negative ones, but I guess you could have bad experience with anything really and it's usually that what people are shouting about.

I've got at least 5000km on gatorskins without a puncture through year round commuting in Dublin! Judging by the wear level on the tyres there is still plenty of life in them. I'd have nothing else on my commuting bike.

I got 2500kms from a pair of Schwalbe Luganos without a single puncture. The rear tyre was worn flat along the centre line and I replaced it. They may not be the fastest tyre but I trust them totally and being able to go for long spins puncture free is much more important than all out speed.

I have Vittoria Zaffiros on my winter bike and so far this winter I've had 4 punctures (3 front 1 rear) and that was in less than 600kms so they're coming off at the end of winter and a pair of Luganos will be fitted for when I use the bike on wetter days in spring/summer.
