Hey lads . I put down a deposit in a dealers for the above car and just wondering if any of yas know the highline spec if it comes as standard with the bluetooth phone kit on the touchscreen radio the car is advertised saying Bluetooth but when I was pressing phone on the radio or steering wheel it was just muting it I asked the dealer but he was unsure of how the bluetooth worked on it .

Also its down as a 2.0l 140 bhp diesel it has standard tdi on the back should the 140 bhp have a red I ?

    Thanks a lot

    Jimbo

Not sure about the trim or red I these days, but the easiest way to tell the output (referred as KW) is have a look in the book, and check the Vin matches and it should say about 104 kw.

Maybe they show the PS these days ? that should be about 138 PS.

    A 1.6 104 TDI Golf has a red I these days ! :D

If it has twin exhausts it's 140bhp also 2.0 TDI is usually on the boot lid

The 140bhp 2 litre doesn't have a red I, but it's not something to be concerned to much about. The 170 bhp 2.0 TDI has a red I, as does the 1.6

The Phone button on the steering wheel by default mutes the radio, IF the car has bluetooth you can reprogram it. What radio is in the car, can you get a pic of it?

I don't think bluetooth came as standard, but it may have been added as a factory option, or even a none VW after market kit.

Factory Bluetooth was not standard on the Passat Highline back in 2011, not sure if it is even standard now.

Presuming it is the below stereo then pressing the Phone button should give you the option to select Bluetooth and then pair with a phone. If it only mutes the sound then I'm afraid it doesn't have factory Bluetooth. To be sure try searching your phone for a Bluetooth device with the key in the ignition. It should show up a device name with VW at the start of it's name.

The 2.0 TDi in the B7 Passat came in two versions, 140bhp and 170bhp. Only the 170bhp had a red i.

There'll also be a bluetooth module under the drivers seat in RHD cars (will look like a plastic box).

If it doesn't have bluetooth try and get the dealer cover a kit. Print the advert before its taken down and use it if needed.

Seems a bit pricy to me for a regular Passat. This CC is not a lot more expensive and is higher spec:

thats a lovely one but all his cars are uk imports and usually have highish mileage I got a decent enough deal in airside so I'm happy enough that was one of the cheaper highlines around and the low mileage kinda sold it for me too
