At what time do you think it's acceptable to make a lot of noise?

Just something I'm wondering. It's pretty much accepted you can't make any noise when people are sleeping, but at what time can you start?

8am is reasonable during the week.

I believe the law says shut up between the hours of 11pm and 7am.

But a bit of cop on goes a long way.

Yeh, like not starting the saw at 8.01 am

Houses either side of me and one opposite have been having a lot of work done lately and I'm starting to lose it. Saws and hammering etc at all hours though admittedly within the legal parameters. A bit of planning on the part of builders and you could do the noisy bits in the middle of the day. Prep work etc could be done first thing and tidying up at night. Sunday should still be a nono though - in residential areas at least.

Not entirely, just applying my logical accounting brain to a problem that can't be solved thus. I just want the banging to stop.

Well I always wait until 10/11am before I start hammering out the Techno. Couldn't give a flying fook about lazy afternoon risers or those who are hungover.

Flat above me contains a family (infant and toddler) so I respect that and shut up at around 8pm.

Moving soon, i need high SPL!
